Abstract


The theoretical description of poly(3,4-dimethylpyrrole) cathodic electrodeposition in alkaline media, assisted by in situ formation of manganate-ions MnO42- as oxidizing agents, intercalated into a polymer layer modifying a cathode, has been made. The system has been described by means of linear stability theory and bifurcation analysis. The stable steady-state in this system has to be established rapidly and efficiently,  but the changes in DEL during the electrochemical synthesis may affect the polymer morphology. The electrochemical instabilities in this system are less probable than for anodic electrodeposition, but more probable than in the case of the presence of the initiant in the solution.
