الفترة الحفيظية بالمغرب (1908 ـ 1912 م) من خلال شعر الملحون

Taoufik LAKBAIBI

Résumé

Al-Melhoun's poetry is a literary source that is misused in Moroccan university studies,
especially in the fields of human and social sciences. In this context, this article aims to
demonstrate the importance of this poetry as a reliable historical source to cover the
dearth of historical texts and documents including the events of the early twentieth
century and especially of the reign of Sultan Moulay Abdelhafid, whose sovereignty
was marked by two facts: First, his proclamation as Sultan of Morocco by the beia
(act of allegiance) in 1907; and secondly by the act of the protectorate of March 30,
1912. Thus, the poet of Al-Melhoun did not content himself with writing these
events, but to interact, to record and to comment on each anomaly in a critical and
analytical way, which allowed Al-Melhoun's poetry to answer several questions
related to this period that preoccupied the historian until recently.
