Abdelmajid HILAL

Résumé

This article is about the impact of built environment evolution to the detriment of liquid and solid sanitation in the coastal Chaouia area. As a matter of fact, the high population growth and the immigration streams, through the absence of the creation of salubrious dwellings and the establishment of adequate infrastructure, have considerably affected the agglomerations tissues: Bir Jdid, Sidi Ali Ben Hamdouch, Lemharza, and Chtouka.
Therefore, the building extension represents one of the major challenges that
affect the environmental balance in thecoastal Chaouia. This is owing to the
increase in the volume of wastewater and solid waste produced along with the lack
of means and qualified human resources, as well as the insufficient drainage of
unstructured neighborhoods. All these factors led to significant degradation of the
environment in the territories studied.
