The problem of the presence or absence of the influence of the philosophy of Averroes and its extensions in many aspects of the Jewish philosophy in the Middle
Ages in particular is one of the issues which suffers from the lack of clarity. This is mainly true in metaphysical areas of Jewish philosophers, such as Maimonides,
Isaac al-Balagh, Gersonides, Joseph ben Judah, and others. In this article, we confine ourselves to addressing the issue of Averroes’ presence and his book “Decisive Treatise” (Faṣl al-maqāl) and his approach to his perceptions in the book “Guide for the Perplexed” by Maimonides. This presence extends to other writings which inspired Maimonides, such as The Incoherence of

the Incoherence and The Commentary on Metaphysics. The presence or absence of Averroes’ thought has been explained in a metaphysical problem, namely the nature of the world and its relationship to the Absolute Agent in Maimonides.
