Résumé

The rich and varied flora of ancient Maghreb triggered the attention and interest of ancient writers. There was almost an assent in the ancient sayings (classical narration) that the ancient Maghreb was rich in its botanical treasure.

In this paper, we attempt to identify and Arabize the names of some ancient Maghreb flora mentioned in the Greek and Latin sources, such as Strabo, Geography, XVII, 3, 4-8, and Pliny the Elder, Natural History, V,16. XIX, 22. Moroccan researchers of ancient history continued to keep the Flora’s names as they appeared in French translation of Strabo and Pliny, without any specification
