Résumé

This article examines the place and status of territorially rooted art in the programs, projects and activities of the territorial collectivities of Goulmima. The latter consider art and culture as levers of development and work to make them accessible to the entire population. Even if they recognize the potential of art and culture in changing the forms and the contents of public action, the territorial collectivities in question remain incapable of giving them substance and embodying their territoriality, because they live at odds with the culture and arts of society. A simple examination of the “Communal Action Program” document of the three territorial collectivities confirms the denial of territorially rooted culture and art. However, art and culture are seen as pillars of territorial identity and bearers of territorial representations and its specificities. The posture of the territorial collectivities contrasts in this sense with the recent initiatives of reappropriation, by certain young people and singing groups, of the practice of Ahidouss and of the rehabilitation of some of its authentic cultural and artistic forms
