Résumé
In the framework of the working with the Agro biodiversity and Climate Change Adaptation Project (ACAP) in Yemen, including environmental, social and preemptive monitoring process for its projects in four governorates (Sana'a, Al-Mahweet, Taiz and Ibb) which are distributed to eight districts. The total cost of it reached $ 4.8 million through a grant from the Global Environment Fund (GEF). Most of these projects were implemented, but was missing the process of monitoring the environmental assessment during implementation and when selecting the sites for the projects.
Accordingly, the importance of this research came through the implementation of the evaluation process for Environmental and Social Safeguards Monitoring of projects related to agro biodiversity and climate changes adaptation during the operation process in the northern region of the project in Sanna Governorate (Beny Matar area). The results of the analysis in the research showed the importance of these projects and their positive role in protecting the lands, improving the population living level, and adapting to climate changes.
Therefore, questions arise about the type of these projects and their suitability to the needs of the region and the population in order to adapt to climate changes? Are there negative environmental and social impacts, and what are the preventive measures that can be monitored during the operation phase, thus preserving the environment and preserving the continuity of the project?
