Résumé

The prime objective of this study is to highlight the value of the commentary of Ibn
Rushd and his intervention regarding fellow commentators as to conflictive issues.
The study aims also at specifying the nature of assessment and criticism addressed
to each one of them, including limitations of that same criticism.
One of the main values of Ibn Rushd’s comments on his reference to previous
commentators with special attention addressed to al- Fārābī and his comments. This
study will also try to reveal the other two values.
