Elimination of indigo dyes existing in liquid discharges by ultrafiltration processes and adsorption

Abstract

In this work, we treated the indigo dye on the one hand, by the technique of ultrafiltration using a new membrane based on polysulfone (PSU) which was obtained by the phase inversion method by immersing the collodion (PSU/titanium dioxide TiO2/DMF), and on the other hand, by the method of adsorption on activated carbon powder. From the results obtained in this study, the rate of discoloration by the technique of ultrafiltration is about 76% and 80% by the adsorption method (CAP).
