Abstract

In This paper, we report simple, green and efficient method for preparing 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones/-thiones using Anima Bone Meal (ABM) as a heterogeneous catalyst for the one pot condensation of various aromatic aldehydes, cyclopentanone and urea of thiourea under microwave irradiation. The catalyst takes less time, It has attractive features like reducing the reaction time, higher yields, ease of product isolation, economic availability of catalyst, simple procedure, and harmless by product. The spent heterogeneous catalyst has been recovered by simple filtration and reused for multiple cycles.
