The purpose of this research is to prove that the human heart stores and processes information, as reported in new scientific discoveries and in the Holy Qur'an.

The human heart is mentioned (132) times in the Glorious Qura’an. Of these Qura’anic statements, some describe this organ as having the capacity of being a center of feeling and emotions, reasoning and rationalization, as well as vision and decision-making. Consequently, hearts can either be healthy or diseased. Healthy (or soft hearts) can have their humane attitude and balanced rational, while diseased ( or hard, stony) hearts can lose such noble and  humane characters.

The Qura’anic emphasis on this great role of the human heart – in the mental, emotional and spiritual decisions, was revealed more than 14 centuries ago, while both cardiologists and psychologists have just come to realize such facts at the beginning of the twenty first century. Such specialists have just come to realize that

the human heart is much more sentient than the human brain, with which it communicates through several means and influence the brain’s thinking capacity, and hence its physical capability of accepting, rejecting, comprehending and storing knowledge. The human heart communicates with the human brain neuro-logically (through the nervous system), biophysically (through pulse waves), biochemically (through certain hormones), and electromagnetically (through energetic waves). The human heart’s electromagnetic field is the most powerful rhythmic field produced by the human body. This field influences every living cell, and extends out in all directions of its surroundings, as an important carrier of information.

The recently discovered heart – brain synchronization (or the so-called Cardiac Coherence) proves that the human heart’s activity influences that of the brain, and that the heart has its own form of intelligence. Cardiac intelligence can process information about its body as well as its surroundings. This takes place through an “info – energetic code” in the form of a profuse network of blood vessels and cells that serve as an information - gathering and distributing system, recently termed “the heart code” by Paul Pearsall (1998 )

For the Noble Qura’an to spell out such facts more than 14 centuries ago is a living testimony to both its divine origin and the correct prophethood of the noble messenger who received it
