Abstract

Islamic Geometric art has received a great attention from several scientists and
designers. Hence, several investigations have been done to reveal its secret of construction, to analyze its symmetry and to prove that some patterns are periodic or quasi-periodic. Our investigation in this paper takes a different way from existing researches. It consists of discovering some aspects of beauty related to the  mathematical properties, such as the golden mean, of this art by analyzing an historical pattern. Findings of this analyze will be used to design and develop new geometric patterns.
