Evaluation of slaughterhouse effluents and proposal of a recovery solution for Morocco
Résumé
The present work consists in evaluating the waste potential of the slaughterhouse of Oujda (Morocco), to propose an innovative solution, which is the biogas technology or the biomethanisation. Slaughterhouse waste can beget significant health and environmental risks if not properly supported. Because they decompose rapidly and can carry pathogens and other contaminants. The anaerobic digestion process offers the possibility of combining the treatment of this waste with the production of a renewable energy that is biogas.
The inoculum used for the digestion of this waste is maintained at the laboratory level in previous studies, it contains a diversified microbial consortium with a hydrolyzing strain to speed up the process.
Various mixtures have been tested, and the best result has been obtained with: slaughterhouse waste + inoculum + algae. The parameters of anaerobic digestion have been monitored regularly (pH, composition and quantity of biogas, temperature ....).The biogas potential obtained under laboratory conditions, without continuous feed, is at least 5m3 biogas/TSM.
This first feasibility study at the laboratory level, allows us to conclude that this project is feasible and profitable.
We propose the installation of a 15m3 pilot bioreactor, which will be adapted and optimized before consider energy recovery totality of liquid and solid waste at the slaughterhouse level. This installation will have as main objective the production of biogas which will allow the heating of the sanitary water.Mots-clés
