Groundwater quality assessment of the Jorf-Fezna palm grove (South-Eastern Morocco)

Souhaila STELI

Résumé

In the Jorf-Fezna palm grove, situated in the South-Eastern Morocco, the environmental risks are reflected in the nature of the soils of salt and the presence of marls and evaporites in aquifers. This situation, intensified by the overexploitation of groundwater resources in the form of pumping, accelerates the accumulation of salts.

The present study concerns the evaluation of the physicochemical quality of the groundwater in Jorf-Fezna palm grove. To do this, a sampling campaign was undertaken in december 2016. The physico-chemical parameters, measured in situ and in the laboratory, were used for the characterization of these waters.
