Morphological and hydrodynamic characterization of the Tazarine basin (Eastern Anti-Atlas, Morocco)

Azddine BARBOT

Résumé

The Tazarine basin, located in the South-East of Morocco, is subject to climate change, which occurs mainly in arid zones. This basin is selected as a pilot basin to better characterize its hydrological regime and better understand its hydrodynamic behavior under the influence of particular meteorological phenomena. Treatments carried out using the digital terrain model (DTM) were able to define the main characteristic parameters of the basin and to trace the watershed limit and the state of the watershed evolution by means of hypsometry. The hydrographic network of the Tazarine watershed is largely influenced by its lithostratigraphy and geological structure. Water infiltration is very important in the northern hydrographic units (sub-basins SB3, SB5, SB7 and SB8), and the runoff is very impressive in the sub-basins located in the South (sub-basins SB1, SB2, SB7 and SB10).
