Microbiologiacal, physiochemical and sensory characteristic of waste water from the mascara station upstream and downstream
Résumé
Wastewater from the mascara STEP(Algeria) is treated with activated sludge for reuse for irrigation.
In this context the work developed in our internship aims to. Carry out a bacteriological and physical-chemical analysis of samples taken in upstream and downstream of the purification station of elkouayer in order to evaluate the water quality.
The results obtained show satisfactory purification efficiencies of 94,45% of suspended solids (TSS) and the rates of reduction of the chemical oxygen demand (COD) and the biological oxygen demand for 5 days (BOD5) are respectively 91,74% and 86% .the removal of NO2,NO3,and NO4 is well done, the respective residual concentration evaluated .however, bacteriological analyzes repealed their richness in control germs of faecal contamination ,on average 1.4.102 total coliforms(TC) , 8.9.10 faecal coliforme(CF),1.9.102 faecal streptococci (SF) in 100ml.
