Pèlerinage d’un artiste amoureux d’Abdelkébir Khatibi approche le secret mystique et le texte semble répondre à la question : qu’est-ce qu’un mystique en littérature ? Raïssi, le personnage principal, entreprend un voyage spirituel. Il marche, animé de l’amour, sans hésitation vers on « Aimé ». Il lui arrive de dormir en priant, couché de côté, en direction de la Mecque et l’esprit voyageant vers Dieu. Il S’investit totalement, jusqu’à l’annihilation « fanâ », dans cette entreprise.

Le testament du mort se veut prolongement du voyage mystique. Le legs des biens mobiliers et immobiliers se fait selon les règles, tout y est consigné. Mais ce qui surprend les héritiers est la mention des Illuminations mecquoises du mystique Ibn Arabi citées en tête de liste et léguées à son fils.

La mention de cette référence incontournable du soufisme explique le souffle mystique qui rythme le récit et cadence le voyage de Raïssi. En même temps, elle apporte des éléments de réponse au « secret important » soulevé par de Certeau par le renvoi à l’essence existentielle de l’homme imbu de mysticisme. Approcher le « secret important » à travers le voyage mystique dans Pèlerinage d’un artiste amoureux, Abdelkébir Khatibi s’y attèle pour revisiter la spiritualité reléguée par l’Islam. Il le fait au nom d’une vision du monde où la mystique se veut discipline de l’esprit, mais également une conduite au service de l’étranger gisant en soi comme en dehors de soi. Sur les traces de cette conduite, cet article régule ses pas.

Abstract

Pilgrimage of an artist in love with Abdelkébir Khatibi approaches the mystical secret and Raïssi seems to answer the question: What is a mystic in literature? Being the actor of a spiritual journey, Raïssi walks, animated by love and without hesitation, towards his “Beloved”. Sometimes he sleeps while praying, lying on his side, in the direction of Mecca and with his spirit wandering towards God. Totally investing, to the point of “fanâ” annihilation, in this enterprise.

The Testament of the Dead is intended to be an extension of the mystical journey. The bequest of movable and immovable property is done according to the rules, everything is recorded. But what surprises the heirs is the mention of the Meccan Illuminations of the mystic Ibn Arabi cited at the top of the list and bequeathed to his son.

The mention of this essential reference of Sufism explains the mystical breath that punctuates the narrative and punctuates Raïssi’s journey. At the same time, it provides elements of an answer to the “important secret” raised by de Certeau by referring to the existential essence of man imbued with mysticism. Approaching the “important secret” through the mystical journey in Pilgrimage of an Artist in Love, Abdelkébir Khatibi sets out to revisit the spirituality relegated by Islam. He does so in the name of a vision of the world in which mysticism is meant to be a discipline of the spirit, but also a conduct in the service of the stranger lying within oneself as well as outside oneself. Following in the footsteps of this conduct, this article regulates his steps.
