Nouvelles Stratégies Antimicrobiennes
Résumé
The emergence of bacterial resistance has been identified by the World Health Organization as one of the major global threats of the coming decades. The overuse and inappropriate consumption of antibiotics have led to the rapid emergence of multi-resistant pathogens, making it difficult to treat nosocomial infections contracted in health care units and even the most common community-acquired infections. Fostering research and development of new antimicrobial treatments is the only way to mitigate the medico-social consequences linked to the emergence of multidrug-resistant germs. The aim of this literature review is to provide an update on the various research carried out over the last decade. The discovery of new antibacterial treatments and the improvement of the action of some existing antimicrobial agents have contributed, in part, to confronting this scourge.
