THE MANAGEMENT OF HOSPITAL WASTE IN ALGERIA:

Résumé


The management of hospital waste is a public health problem in Algeria. Many hospitals dump waste in anywhere, instead of disposing of it properly, exposing the lives of citizens to a high risk to their health.

The aim of this research is to: describe and understand the mechanisms related to hospital waste management, identify the main impacts of mismanagement of Waste from Infectious Health Care Activities/ WIHCA on human health and the quality of the environment, and we will try to focus on the management quality of waste in Algerian hospitals, and propose solutions that can improve the treatment and disposal of this waste. Among the results of this research: the waste disposal sector of healthcare activities is poorly organized, structured and secured in all the hospitals in Algeria, all the actions carried out so far proved to be failing...
