Subventions gouvernementales et performances macroéconomiques dans les pays de la CEMAC : quel rôle pour la gouvernance ?
Résumé
Les subventions financières constituent un instrument de politique économique à la fois sensible et problématique. L’objectif de cette étude est d’analyser l’efficacité des politiques de subvention publique en termes de performance macroéconomique dans les pays membres de la CEMAC, en mettant un accent particulier sur le rôle de la qualité des institutions dans cette dynamique. Une approche méthodologique basée sur la méthode des moments généralisés en système permet d’atteindre cet objectif. Les résultats montrent que le financement public à travers les subventions directes affecte positivement et de manière significative la croissance du PIB et celle du PIB par habitant, mais seulement lorsque les institutions politiques sont prises en compte.
