The literature review shows that the management system and organization of SMEs is specific. However, since the 90s, several studies question this thesis and highlight that SMEs can have big business features such as electronic data interchange, Just in time, quality certification, the capital risk, the export context, etc.
Inspired by the distortion of current, we found that the requirements of ISO 9001 version 2008 standard are in contradiction with the organizational characteristics of SMEs. Thus, the objective of this paper is to answer the question: what is the ISO 9001: 2008 Can distort and undermine the organizational structure of SMEs?
