The production of sand in the quarries of Douala is not only a source of employment and fiscal income but also a cause of environmental degradation. The aim of this study is to analyze how green jobs can be promoted in Douala through the mutation of employees working directly or indirectly in sand quarries. A survey was performed on a sample of 350 respondents working directly or indirectly in sand production. The analysis of the 321 usable questionnaires show that 77.88% of respondents reported to prefer green jobs, 70.71% accepted being ready to change for a green job and 69.47% expressed their willingness to pay in order to get a green job. The results of the logistic regression show that level of education, sensitivity and the preference for green jobs positively influence the willingness to change job while type of activity and income level has negative effects. These results can be used by public authorities to help them elaborate strategies to promote green jobs in the economy.
