Employee shareholding (AS) is a system that is mostly popular internationally because of its
many virtues on financial and organizational performance. In Morocco, we questioned its
behavioral effects by conducting an empirical study targeting Moroccan employee
shareholders. First, we mobilized the agency theory which constitutes the benchmark for
analyzing behavior and incentives within organizations. Next, we studied the role of
employee share ownership in aligning interests and reconciling organizational conflicts.
Finally, after the presentation of a synthesis of previous empirical work on the behavioral
effects of employee shareholding, we presented our methodology and the results of our
questionnaire survey which were analyzed by the method of structural equations. Our results
show that employee share ownership improves organizational involvement of employees and
their preference for the actions of their companies while reducing their intention to leave.
