Over the past decade, women’s entrepreneurship in Africa has grown in scale and interest from many researchers in different disciplines (economics, sociology) to the political decision-maker. This dynamic is mainly explained by the awareness of the Heads of State about the importance of the participation of women in the economic and social sphere, by the process of democratization in Africa in recent years and the dynamism and will of African women to become autonomous.

Djiboutian women entrepreneurs are not excluded from this new dynamic, they want to take part in the development of their country and thus fight against unemployment and precariousness. They play a key role in the process of creating wealth and value added through investment in income-generating activities such as services, craftsmanship, processing and promotion of local products… etc.

All in all, in a context of wide spread globalization, female entrepreneur ship is a strong tool for economic and social development, particularly for developing countries. Therefore, the purpose of our article is to present female entrepreneurship in Djibouti as a new growth lever, the role of women entrepreneurs in economic transformation. To do this, we will follow an exploratory and inductive methodological approach, analyzing empirical data, articles and works to obtain relevant results.
