CONTRIBUTION DU DIGITAL Ả LA PERFORMANCE FINANCIÈRE DES AGENCES DES INSTITUTIONS DE MICROFINANCE : UNE ÉTUDE EXPLOIRATOIRE EN CONTEXTE CAMEROUNAIS
Résumé
The world is going digital. Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) like the otherscompanies are experiencing a new lease of life and are all challenged by this wave of digitalization on the move. The objective of this article to understand and describe the phenomenon of digitalization and its role in achieving the financial performance of agenciesof MFIs in the Cameroonian context. Thus, the exploratory type qualitative approach was adopted and on the basis of a reasoned choice sampling,interviews were conducted with five heads of second-category MFI agenciesin the cities of Yaoundé and Ngaoundéré and the Sphinx IQ software was used for Data processing. The results of the study show that the practice of digital in MFI agencies is based to a lesser extent onthe signing of partnership relations, essential in the accomplishment of theirmissions both in the promotion of the financial inclusion, to the customer satisfaction and in achieving financial performance. As a result, MFIs come up against pressure from Fintech and must digitize their services in order to serve a largenumber of poor people, to become profitable and / or to perpetuate it activities, at the risk of perishing orto disappear.
