DIMENSION ETHIQUE DU COMPORTEMENT MEDICAL ET INTENSITE DE CONSOMMATION DE SOINS AU TOGO
Résumé
The objective of this paper is to analyze the effect of ethical governance on the intensity of household care consumption in Togo, through the quantitative regression of health expenditures. To this end, the database of the Unified Questionnaire of Basic Indicators of Well-Being (QUIBB, 2015) is used to estimate a semi-parametric model. The results of the estimates show that the intensity of household care consumption increases with the quality of ethical governance at a decreasing rate. The rates of change are in the order of 6.798% for the lowest level of health expenditure; 4.506% for the average level of expenditure and 3.788% for the highest level of expenditure. The results also show that the standard of living of households, the health difficulties of a family member, and the distance from the health center are, among other things, the determining factors in household health expenditures.
