Résumé

A new urban civilization is surging in the european countries. Based mainly on the manufacturing industry in the past, today’s society is changing. New practices can be noticed as people’s preoccupation is more and more focused on a better living environment rather than work. If cutting down working time is still on among political debates, other social issues are being raised. As social practices are getting more individual, as people claim for a better living environment in the city with a new kind of freedom in terms of time spending, which role can be played by the politics and the citizens to adapt onto this new urban living environment aimed at "a better living together".
