Résumé

The objective of this paper is to shed light on a few problems some new teachers of English have with their school principals once they graduate from teacher training colleges in Morocco and are assigned to their respective schools. To reach this objective, a series of semi-structured interviews were conducted with a group of new teachers who were in their first year of teaching. The interviews were thematically analyzed from the perspective of organizational communication theory. The thematic analysis of the interviews revealed that some school principals resort to power, coercion and even lure in order to hegemonize the new teachers and oblige them to accept unreasonable tasks. It is our hope that the findings of the study will encourage educational managers to reconsider their communication and management strategies so that new teachers will not work in a hostile environment.
