Publication Ethics and Publication Malpractice Statement

The publication of an article in a peer reviewed journal is an essential model for Moroccan Journal of Quantitative and Qualitative Research, ISSN: 2665-8623. Standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties: the author, the journal editor, the peer reviewer and the publisher.

Publication decisions

The Editor in Chief is responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published. The authors must follow instructions of the journal and constrained by such legal requirements as shall then be in force regarding libel, copyright infringement and plagiarism. The Editor in Chief may confer with other Editors or Reviewers in making this decision. Download the Copyright Transfer form

Confidentiality

The Editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and potential reviewers.

Contribution to Editorial Decisions

Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and through the editorial communications with the author may also assist the author in improving the paper.

Confidentiality

Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.

Originality and Plagiarism

Authors who submit papers to Moroccan Journal of Quantitative and Qualitative Research atest that their work is original and unpublished, and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. In addition, authors confirm that their paper is their own; that it has not been copied or plagiarised, in whole or in part, from other works; and that they have disclosed actual or potential conflicts of interest with their work or partial benefits associated with it.

MJQR use iThenticate software to detect if there are any plagiarism issues.

The submission may be rejected,  if plagiarism is detected, before/during the peer review process, more than :  

--> 20% for result article

--> 30% for review article

For review article : we encourage authors to publish the categories below of review article:

  • Meta-analysis
  • SLR, Scope Review, Mapping Review or Bibliometrics.
  • Theoritical literature review

AI Tools Disclosure

If AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Elicit, Scite) were used in writing, literature review, coding, or data analysis, authors must include a dedicated "AI Tools Disclosure" section at the end of the manuscript (before the references).

This section should briefly state:

  • The AI tool(s) used

  • The purpose and extent of their use

  • The section(s) where AI support was applied

Example:

AI tools were used to assist in writing and literature search. All outputs were critically reviewed and validated by the authors. No AI tool was listed as a co-author, and the tools were used solely in a supportive role.

Important:

  • AI tools must not be listed as co-authors.

  • Excessive reliance on AI—especially for original analysis, methodology, or critical thinking—will result in rejection of the article.

Editorial responsibilities

Editors have complete responsibility and authority to reject/accept an article, editors should have no conflict of interest with respect to articles they reject/accept, only accept a paper when reasonably certain, when errors are found, promote publication of correction or retraction, preserve.

Ethical Approvals

Experimentation involving human subjects will only be published if such research has been conducted in full accordance with ethical principles, including the World Medical Association Declaration of Helsinki (version 2008) and the additional requirements, if any, of the country where the research has been carried out.

Manuscripts must be accompanied by a statement that the experiments were undertaken with the understanding and written consent of each subject and according to the above mentioned principles. A statement regarding the fact that the study has been independently reviewed and approved by an ethical board should also be included.

When experimental animals are used the methods section must clearly indicate that adequate measures were taken to minimize pain or discomfort, and in accordance with local laws and regulations.

All studies using human or animal subjects should include an explicit statement in the Material and Methods section identifying the review and ethics committee approval for each study, if applicable.

Editors reserve the right to reject papers if there is doubt as to whether appropriate procedures have been used.

Requirement for consent

Appropriate consents, permissions and releases must be obtained where authors wish to include case details or other personal information or images/video/audio of patients and any other individuals in MJQR publication in order to comply with all applicable laws and regulations concerning the privacy and/or security of personal information.
