Abstract

Malnutrition remains a pressing global health concern, with children being particularly vulnerable to its debilitating effects. Morocco, a country making commendable strides in addressing childhood malnutrition, has witnessed a lower-than-average rate of wasting among children under 5 years of age. This article examines the critical role of nutrition education in preventing malnutrition among Moroccan children. It explores the various factors influencing childhood malnutrition, including socio-economic disparities, limited access to nutritious foods, and insufficient knowledge about proper nutrition practices. By empowering parents and caregivers with the knowledge and skills to provide balanced and nourishing meals for their children, nutrition education holds the potential to disrupt the cycle of malnutrition. The article delves into the impact of nutrition education programs, highlighting their effectiveness in promoting healthier food choices, fostering early development, and enhancing the well-being of Moroccan children. Through a comprehensive analysis, this paper sheds light on the pivotal role of family dynamics in shaping children's food preferences and habits, emphasizing the significance of nutrition education for a healthier future in Morocco.
