4. Description Abstract

The present work focused on updating the knowledge of doping techniques in solar photocatalysis for wastewater treatment. The photocatalytic properties of catalysts are limited by their wide band gap. Doping is a greater awareness of the material obtained. The doping causes a positive movement of the flat band potential and increased densities majority donors. Thus, the impurities would create energy levels above the valence band and the energy states are responsible for the absorption of photons of lower energy, 3.2 eV. However these introduced by certain impurities (metal ions) as energy states act as recombination centers. In the visible range, the better photocatalysts doped allow wastewater treatment. Given their photoreactivity, doping techniques have been implemented. There doping by physical methods which involve bombard targets photocatalysts by a metal ion beam and the chemical doping by sol-gel method which comprises incorporating impurities such as nitrogen, carbon, phosphorus, sulfur, etc. during the synthesis of photocatalysts.
