4. Description Abstract This work aims to quantify soil los through a GIS in the Mé (Côte d'Ivoire) watershed. It has three major objectives. The analysis data consist of satellite images, thematic maps, and rainfall data from 05 stations covering the period 1940 to 2000. The land-use dynamics between 1987 and 2000 showed a decrease in dense forest of 18.54% and an increase in crop/fallow areas of 12.14%. The analysis of rainfall variability shows that the rainfall decline that began in the 1969s in the Mé basin continues. The average vulnerability to water erosion covers about 40% of the area of the Mé watershed. The average land loss of 16 t/ha/year. Soil losses over the entire Me watershed amount to nearly 15 million t/year.
