4. Description Abstract This area is located in the central Rif, middle region of Ouerrha. Its substratum is formed mainly by blue marls of the Upper Tortonian, a schistose series of the Cretaceous and formations of red marl saliferous of the Trias. Unfortunately the groundwaters of Taounate district have know the problem of salinity which threatens their quality. In order to elucidate the genesis of this salinity and to know the water-rock contact relationship; the geological studies and seasonal waters sampling campaigns of a natural source and two wells during the period from May 2016 to February 2017 have been performed. Salinity is defined by the total quantity of the elements dissolved in the water it was measured by a Conductivimeter, Mark OHAUS, Model Starter ST3100C-F. The results showed that the salinity varies between 0,73 g/l in the Kara well and 16,51 g/l in the Hammam source. Given the very important level of the salt in the source, the possible solution is the extraction of the salt by the construction of the accumulation basins, in order to promote the evaporation of water and the decantation of the salt, to use it after a deep analysis.
