STUDY OF THE CONDENSATION OF HYDROXYLAMINE HYDROCHLORIDE, SEMICARBAZIDE AND THIOSEMICARBAZIDE WITH LONG CHAIN ALKYL ISATINS

Abstract

In this work, we reported the condensation of hydroxylamine hydrochloride, semicarbazide and thiosemicarbazide with long chain alkyl-indoline-2,3-diones leading to the corresponding 1-alkyl oxindoline oximes, semicarbazones and thiosemicarbazones. The structures of all the compounds isolated were elucidated on the basis of spectral data ( 1 H NMR, 13C NMR) and confirmed by crystallographic studies in the cases of compounds 5a,b.
