Abstract

An efficient method for the synthesis of 5-amino-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-1-yl propannitrile derivatives 2 and 4,5-dihydro [2-(cyanoamino)] pyrimidines 3 in good yields by the Treatment of 2-aryllydene malononitriles 1 with dicyanodiamide in n- pentanol or 2- cyanoethyl-hydrazine in methanol respectively.
