Microeconmetric evaluation of youth employment policies: empirical evidence for Morocco
Résumé
The objective of this paper is to analyze the emergence of active labor market policies in Morocco and their effectiveness in the fight against unemployment among young graduates. It also aims to assess the impact of the subsidized employment program "IDMAJ" on increasing employment, reducing unemployment and improving working conditions in terms of wages and working hours. Estimates were made using the propensity score matching method based on 2010 survey data of beneficiaries of this program. The results show that the program is ineffective in reducing unemployment and increasing employment, while a negative effect was found for wages.
