Abstract |
In Haute-Casamance, natural and anthropogenic f actors have led to asharpdecline in biological diversity, particularly in the woody flora. With a view to better understanding the flora for better conservation, this study aims to determine the impacts of natural and anthropogenic factors on the diversity and ecological status of woody species in Haute-Casamance. A survey was carried out through a questionnaire submitted to 339 heads of households followed by 54 interviews submitted to a lexicometricanalysis. The combination of the different methods revealed 20 species considered rare among which six are endangered. These are Pterocarpuserinaceus Poir., Khayasenegalensis (Desr.) A. Juss., Cordylapinnata (Lepr. Ex A. Rich.) Milne-Redh., Bombax costatum Pellegr. &Vuillet, Daniella oliveri (Rolfe) Hutch. & Dalziel and Oxytenantheraabyssinica (A. Rich.) Munro, who are more affected by international timber traffic. 23 abundant species have been identified, the most common of which are CombretumglutinosumPerr. ex DC., TerminaliamacropteraGuill. &Perr., and Piliostigmathonningii (Schumach.) Milne-Redh. The results also reveal that the statements of the populations are in perfect adequacy with the reality and the previous studies carried out in the zone. |
