Abstract

In this investigation, a thorough examination of the current state-of-the-art in the synthesis and diverse applications of silica-based functional mesoporous materials is presented. Beyond their well-established role in catalysis, these materials exhibit versatile applications as adsorbents and pollution control agents in separation processes. Despite significant advancements in porous material synthesis, there remains a critical need for advanced chemical methodologies to create novel mesostructures featuring distinct functional groups. Tailoring these structures to specific scientific requirements and environmental protection mandates is imperative for continued progress in this field. This analysis underscores the crucial intersection of scientific development and environmental stewardship, emphasizing the pivotal role played by precisely engineered mesoporous materials in addressing contemporary challenges.
