Energetic analysis of the packed bed during the charge process

Abstract

the objective of this paper is a physical model to numerically study the thermal behavior of the packed-bed filled with phase change material (PCM) capsules, only the charge mode (heating process) is considered. The operational conditions of the packed bed TES are described by the following parameters: temperature of the HTF and the storage material, velocity of the HTF at the inlet of the packed bed, storage material diameter, the melting temperature of the PCM, the porosity and the high of the packed bed.
