Dans un contexte économique en mutation rapide et profonde, l’adaptation de l’entreprise aux différents changements tant au niveau économique, social, environnemental que technologique devient une condition nécessaire pour assurer sa pérennité et sa performance. L’outil budgétaire a fait l’objet de très nombreux débats et controverses. Hope et Fraser (2003) ont souligné que le système budgétaire actuel empêche souvent les entreprises d'être flexibles aux changements. Par ailleurs, en vue d’améliorer le processus budgétaire actuel, le courant de recherche Better Budgeting a proposé d'introduire de nouvelles techniques reposant sur les technologies de la Business Intelligence, à savoir : le budget à base zéro et le Rolling forecast. Dans ce sens, les Business Intelligence Systems ont attiré l’attention des chercheurs et des praticiens, ils sont en train de changer la façon dont les entreprises sont gérées et les décisions sont prises. En raison du manque de connaissances sur le lien entre les Business Intelligence Systems et la gestion budgétaire, cet article se présente sous la forme d’une revue de la littérature traitant le lien entre ces deux concepts. Les résultats montrent une forte relation entre ces deux concepts. Cependant, cette étude reste à un stade théorique, d’autres études empiriques seront nécessaires pour confirmer cette relation.

In an economic context of rapid and profound change, the adaptation of the company to the various economic, social, environmental and technological changes becomes a necessary condition to ensure its durability and performance. The budget tool has been the subject of much debate and controversy. Hope and Fraser (2003) have pointed out that the current budgeting system often prevents firms from being flexible to change. Furthermore, in order to improve the current budgeting process, the Better Budgeting research stream has proposed the introduction of new techniques based on Business Intelligence technologies, namely: zero-based budgeting and the rolling forecast. In this sense, Business Intelligence Systems have attracted the attention of researchers and practitioners, they are changing the way companies are managed and decisions are made. Due to the lack of knowledge about the link between Business Intelligence Systems and budget management. This article is presented as a review of the literature dealing with the link between these two concepts. The results show a strong relationship between the two concepts of our research. However, this study remains at a theoretical stage, further empirical studies will be needed to confirm this relationship.
