The International Journal of Arabic Linguistics (IJAL ISSN : 2421-9835) is an online open access peer-reviewed journal that aims at providing a platform for researchers working on the Arabic language to disseminate their most recent work.

Aims and Focus

The International Journal of Arabic Linguistics is an open access, peer-reviewed publication dedicated to advancing scholarly research on the Arabic language in all its varieties and contexts. The journal aims to provide an inclusive platform for linguists, researchers, and educators to explore and disseminate cutting-edge work related to Arabic linguistics from both theoretical and applied perspectives.

We welcome original contributions that engage with a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:

  • Phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics of Arabic

  • Dialectology and variation studies across Arabic-speaking communities

  • Historical and comparative linguistics

  • Sociolinguistics, language policy, and language planning

  • Pragmatics and discourse analysis

  • Corpus linguistics and computational approaches to Arabic

  • Language acquisition and Arabic language education

  • Lexicography, terminology, and dictionary studies

  • Arabic in contact with other languages

  • Manuscript studies and the history of the Arabic linguistic tradition

The journal particularly encourages submissions that adopt interdisciplinary approaches or engage with current debates in linguistic theory through the lens of Arabic. Our goal is to foster intellectual exchange and contribute to the visibility and accessibility of research on the Arabic language worldwide.

No Submission or Publication Fees

The International Journal of Arabic Linguistics is committed to promoting open and accessible research. We do not charge any fees for the submission, processing, or publication of articles. Authors are welcome to submit their work without any financial obligations at any stage of the review or publication process.
