Abstract

The teaching of English for specific purposes (ESP) in Moroccan higher education, as an independent course, has gained ground in recent years. The demands of the job market and the rapid growth in the business sphere have given much value and urgency for development of job oriented English courses. The Special syllabi, teaching techniques and testing have made the implementation of this course more feasible and at hand. The aim of this paper is to investigate the status of ESP in Moroccan higher education, precisely in ISTA (Institute Superieur de Technologies Appliqué/Higher Institute of Applied Technologies) and it also provides analysis and findings of a field research based on needs analysis.
