Résumé

This article aims to make an empirical analysis of the performance of Ivorian banks and particularly to make available to bank managers, researchers the determinants of this performance. To achieve this objective, we identified in the literature the factors that could explain the performance of the banks, then we collected financial data from Ivorian banks on the website of the Central Bank of West African States. Finally, we proceeded to the processing and the interpretation of the data. The results from our analysis of panel data show that operational efficiency (Eff), capitalization (K) and liquidity (liq) have a positive influence on performance captured by financial profitability (ROE), economic profitability (ROA) and Net Interest Margin (NIM).

Our results also show that financial profitability (ROE) is negatively impacted by the control (Ctrl) variable and that economic profitability (ROA) is also negatively influenced by operational efficiency.
