About the Journal

Focus and Scope

African and Mediterranean Journal of Architecture and Urbanism (AMJAU) is an International peer-reviewed Journal for Communications, Papers, and Reviews, specializing in publishing research activities carried out in the field of Architecture and Urbanism and related disciplines. It aims to encourage research and development and promote the exchange of knowledge and scientific outcomes related to the three themes: History, theory criticism, and epistemology of architecture; Composition and/or modeling of the architectural and urban project; and sustainability in architecture and urbanism. 

The AMJAU’s target community is made up of researchers, professors, and professionals working in the field of Architecture and Urbanism and related disciplines (Cultural Heritage, Engineering, Landscape, Urban Geography, Sociology, … etc.) The journal also aims to promote scientific articles and productions at the African, Mediterranean, regional, and global levels. The institutions as well as the schools of architecture will be enriched by their contribution to the scientific level of the journal. AMJAU can, among other things, deal with professional themes in the field of architecture and urbanism. 

AMJAU is a free-of-charge open-access journal and publishes two issues per year in December and July.

Peer Review Process

The African and Mediterranean Journal of Architecture and Urbanism (AMJAU) is an international peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research contributions that address architecture, urbanism and related disciplines. All contributions are subject to initial evaluation by the editors and certain members of the editorial board and international scientific committee. If the contribution is likely to be considered in depth, it will be subject to review by two independent and anonymous peer experts. 

Revised articles are treated confidentially by members of the editorial board, members of the international scientific committee and reviewers. 

Authors are required, for all submitted articles, to participate in this peer review process and follow the publication guidelines. They are required to make the requested changes and correct any errors identified.

 

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content based on the principle that making research available to the public free of charge facilitates greater exchange of knowledge on a global scale. Users have the right to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full text of articles in this journal, and to use them for any other lawful purpose.

Journal Fees

African and Mediterranean Journal of Architecture and Urbanism (AMJAU) is an open access journal and in addition, no fees are required for the processing and publication of articles.
