Résumé

In Morocco today, innovative environments are truly dynamic industrial platforms that enable sustainable regional development in terms of competitiveness, growth and territorial anchoring.

In this article, we will attempt to examine the specific features of innovative environments and their institutional configuration in the Moroccan context. In this respect, an important question can be formulated as follows:

What are the most important specificities that distinguish the functioning of Moroccan innovative environments from other territorialized environments?

To provide some answers to this question, we have carried out theoretical research with empirical work resulting from a quantitative approach.

For this reason, we have tried, firstly, to build up a theoretical corpus defining innovative environments and their specific features, and secondly, to verify the variables of these environments via a quantitative study based on a questionnaire administered to a sample of fifteen innovative environments in Morocco, by testing the participation of these specific features in the growth and dynamics of the host territories.

The results obtained via statistical tests in sectors show that there are, on the one hand, four main features characterising the institutional functioning of these environments, namely: coopetition, proximity, specialisation of activities and life cycle of the network. On the other hand, they participate in the dynamics of the functioning of the network, which thus makes it possible to generate growth, innovation and attractiveness in the host territory.
