Abstract

Abstract: The financing of scientific research in Moroccan universities is conceived as a vector of innovation and remains one of the most decisive strategic factors in the competitiveness of research, all the more so as it guarantees its effectiveness and insight. To this end, this article looks at the impact of funding on the insight of university scientific research. Furthermore, the aim of this article is to uncover the reality of financial subsidies and, above all, to detect their impact on the degree of success of research in higher education. Our approach is based on an empirical study involving a sample of 135 specialists including teacher-researchers and doctoral students from two universities, among others, who will be interviewed, organized as follows: 34 teacher-researchers and 34 PhD students from the Université Chouaib Doukkali in El Jadida, and 33 teacher-researchers and 34 PhD students from the Université d'Ain Chock in Casablanca. Nevertheless, this study is based on an exploratory analysis and a hypothetico-deductive approach that takes into account a mixed reflection based on qualitative and quantitative methods. In addition, it is based on SPSS software, while applying the chi-square test, and the use of Cramer's Phi V in order to analyze, process and interpret the data, while assessing the correlation between dependent and independent variables. The results of this study reveal that research stakeholders at both universities unanimously declare that the component dedicated to the specific funding of scientific research in higher education remains very modest, This financial shortfall in research budgets blocks all initiatives for progress, and kills all ambitions that contribute to the success of research in higher education. In addition, we need to inform the institutional framework of the reality of this funding, and find effective solutions to this shortfall. In short, lack of funding impoverishes the sense of effort and kills the diligence and perseverance that restructure and underpin the success and excellence of scientific research in higher education. In fact, this situation is bogging down the spirit of invention and leading university scientific research into a veritable morass.
